Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and determination to enhancing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) companies through an engagement along with the company's senior administrators in a strategic arranging session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric exams.
Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% of the registered pupils during the education and learning sector.
These learners attained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the expenditure government is earning in the life of inadequate and vulnerable little ones is yielding a good impression in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on current achievements, the Minister highlighted critical milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of long lasting Management appointments and the shortage of personnel at most regional places of work.
